Schumacher begins GP2 test at wet Jerez
If ever a man was a stickler for preparation, it was Michael Schumacher. And as Schumacher's Formula One comeback draws ever closer, the seven-time world champion is keen to show his younger rivals that he's training as hard as ever to be ready for his return to the grid with Mercedes.
So on Tuesday the German was back behind the wheel of a single-seater, privately testing a GP2 car at the Spanish circuit of Jerez. Although his running ended prematurely after heavy rain and strong winds hit the track, he covered 52 laps and seemed satisfied that the time in the car was helping him prepare for his first outing in Mercedes' 2010 car, expected at the first official F1 test of the year next month.
