Early exit for Kubica from Monte Carlo Rally
Beginner's luck appeared to desert Renault Formula One driver Robert Kubica on Tuesday night when his maiden appearance at the prestigious Monte Carlo Rally was brought to a premature end. Former BMW Sauber star Kubica was forced to pull out of the event after the engine of his Renault Clio developed an issue during the evening's 8.83-kilometre warm-up stage.

Although his mechanics battled to fix the problem, they weren't able to mend the engine, forcing the Polish driver to watch from the sidelines as the first proper stage of the event got underway on Wednesday.
