Reliable start for Renault
RenaultRenault F1 Team began testing in Hockenheim on Tuesday. Much like the conditions for Sunday's race at Silverstone, the weather in Hockenheim was overcast with frequent rain showers hitting the circuit. With changeable track conditions the team therefore had to adapt its programme accordingly.

Nelson Piquet was in the R28 for the first day of running, covering 111 laps in total, equivalent to 508 km. He made the most of the changeable weather to run in both dry and wet conditions as he concentrated on set-up work and general race preparation for next week's German Grand Prix.

"We didn't manage to do as many laps as we could have with all the rain interruptions, but overall it has been a positive day and it was nice to drive here in the week before the Grand Prix," said Piquet. "It's quite a rewarding track to drive, and, even with the changeable track conditions, I was able to do quite a lot of work with the set-up of the car in preparation for the race next week."
